Ask Fiona - Signs a boy likes you?

Dear Fiona,
I really like this boy and I can't work out if he likes me back. What should I do?

Ahhh, the eternal question. I have more than enough experience with this and I can't really be certain whether thats a good or bad thing. However, one good thing to come out of it, is my capability to knickerpick a boy's mind and tell my fellow females what goes on their heads!

Right, for me there are 5 main signs which can tell you straight of if this boy has some feelings towards you.

Touching
This does not have to be full on hugging or lovingly walking down the beach hand in hand, but be aware if he accidently grazes your arm and doesnt pull away or touches your arm while laughing. These could all be good signs of him liking you, but pay attention as he could just be a bit of a player.
Teasing
Although it can seem mean, trust me, I know! Boys can sometimes get quite self concious and feel like they need to tease you or make fun of you to get your attention. Maybe they are just playing up to their friends or trying to make it look like he doesnt like you. But most of the time,if he doesnt tease other girls, he will have some feeling towards you to make the effort to tease you.
Talking
He may talk to you alot, whether it be in person or over a social networking site, but dont misread this as a sure sign of him liking you, he may just be friendly or leading you on. However, if he talks to you more than others or even his friends, he might like you. Also, if he seems to be happier when talking to you, its a good indication that he could like you.
Eye Contact
Watch his eyes when talking to him. If he keeps eye contact with you, he may well like you and feel interested in what you have to say. Also, watch to see if his pupils dilate, (be careful not to look creepy, BIG turn off!) as this is a good way of showing he likes you. If he happens to be shy, he may look away when you catch his eye, or pretend he was looking around. This is a big sign to say he was looking at you.
Body Language
Probably the biggest tell you can get! Boys give so much away from their body language. If they are facing and leaning towards you, its a good sign he might like you. Their pelvis or knees may be pointed towards you, if so they might have some other feelings towards you... i'll leave that to your imagination..
If he likes you, theres a good chance he will rarely turn away from you, and try to be in a position where you are both in good view of each other and these are some pretty good signs that he may like you.

Although there are so many other things a boy does, we are forgetting about his friends. Examining his friends responses to things can be a BIG sign as to if he likes you or not. For example..

• they might look at him and smile when you walk past
• they might smirk or wink at him when you join them
• in my experience, a big tell, is when you go up to them or hang around with them, they will compliment you and look to him for a response to it

Finally, the most obvious, simple thing which you'll kick yourself for not thinking of.
Ask him straight up!
This can be so nervewracking and can go one of 2 ways. Either it will go well and he will admit his feelings one way or another, or he will go back into his shell (as I have experienced more times than none)

WARNING

ahhh, theres always a downside to these things !Be careful of being mislead by these things, after all, those males are a tricky species to figure out.

• If he talks to you alot, he might just be a friendly person
• If he doesnt keep eye contact and looks more at your body than into your eyes, he might just be looking for a playtime partner rather than acutally liking you
• DON'T send your friends to do your job. 99.999999999999999% of the time, he won't tell your best friend if he likes you
• If you get these signs from him, dont assume straight away he likes you, he may not realise he's giving these signs and may not know you like him
